Gyan Deepika Scheme, Assam was started in the budget of 2020 under the Govt of Assam to provide free admission, free uniforms, E-Bikes to Girls and Education loan subsidy of ₹ 50,000 to students.
Last year news spread over the state that E-Bikes for Girls students are to be provided who have a secure first division in Higher Secondary. However, many girls have received the award and many don’t. So, those who haven’t receive yet can check out the Gyan Deepika Yojana.
Gyan Deepika Scheme Details
Government of Assam has launched Gyan Deepika Scheme in the Assam Budget 2020 in view to enhance the education of Girls and the lower-income families. Most students can get an education because they can’t effort the uniform or admission fees. So, this scheme is for those who want higher education but can’t effort the expenses.

Gyan Deepika is the top education scheme that was launched by the Assam Govt. Some of the major benefits under this scheme are shown here. Education loan subsidy of Rs. 50,000 is already started and you can check it here. Others like Admission fee waiver up to degree level also included in this scheme. Check out below-
- Free uniform for Class IX & X students.
- E-Bikes for Girls who secure 1st Division in Higher Secondary exam.
- Admission fee waiver up to Degree level.
- Education Loan subsidy of ₹ 50,000 to all.
As of now, some benefits are not offered yet as seeing the current Covid19 situation. But it will be resumed soon.
Eligibility of the scheme
Various eligibility criteria are required for various benefits. So, you can check the eligibility as per your requirements.
Free uniforms for Class IX & X students–
- To avail the benefit, you need to be a student of Class IX or X.
- Student needs to be from govt school.
- Low family income students are only eligible.
E-Bikes for Girls–
- College of the student should be at least 5km away from her home.
- The scheme is only for Girls students.
Admission Fee Waiver–
- Annual family income of the beneficiary should be less than ₹ 2 lakh.
- Admission of the first, second and third year in UG/PG course are considered
- Except for those conditions, if the principal and admission committee feels that the annual family income of the student is less than ₹ 2 lakhs, then he/she can avail free admission.
- All PWD students will get the benefit of this scheme.

Education Loan Subsidy–
- A student must be a permanent resident of Assam.
- Loan amount should be Rs. 1 Lakh or more.
- The loan should be an Education Loan from any Commercial bank or Regional Rural Bank in the state.
- No income criteria required.

There are separate applications process required for the different schemes. Those who want to avail the benefits of Gyan Deepika scheme, Assam can check out below-
- First, Visit the Assam govt scheme website.
- Check out the eligibility.
- Fill your complete details properly.
- Submit the form.
