Assam Wage Compensation Scheme: Govt has announced assistance of ₹ 12,000 to pregnant women in tea garden for better nutrition & health. Compensation will be given in 4 instalments.
Assam Govt has launched this scheme on Oct 2018 under the supervise of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. The aim is to provide better nutrition & health to pregnant women living in the tea garden. As so far, it is expected to benefit almost 60,000 women under the Wage Compensation Scheme.
Assam Wage Compensation Scheme Details
A compensation amount of ₹ 12,000 will be provided to the pregnant women of Tea garden for better healthcare & nutrition under the Assam Wage Compensation scheme 2020.

Eligibility of the scheme
As the name of the scheme suggests, the benefits are only for Pregnant women of Tea Garden. So, those who get pregnant that are resident of tea garden than she will get healthcare & nutrition support of ₹ 12,000. Further, the eligibility criteria are here-
- A beneficiary should be a permanent resident of Tea Garden area.
- Only pregnant women are eligible for the scheme.
- She should also be a permanent resident of Assam.
Benefits of the Wage Compensation scheme
There are several benefits allowed under the Wage Compensation scheme for the pregnant women of tea garden. The primary benefit is to provide ₹ 12,000 to support the healthcare & nutrition of the women on an instalment basis. Check out the other benefits below-
- All pregnant women will get better health & nutrition supplements under this scheme.
- An amount of Rs. 12,000 would be provided to the women for taking care of herself and her baby.
- Those women are permitted to take maternity leave for 3 months after the delivery.
- Provide assistance for ante-natal care of the baby.
The amount of compensation would be a divide in 4 instalments. Such as- The first instalment is ₹ 2,000, Second is ₹ 4,000, Third is ₹ 3,000 and last is ₹ 3,000. This instalment goes through a process that begins from the first quarter for the health checkup reaching to institutional delivery and till the registration of birth.
How to apply for the Assam Wage Compensation scheme?
There is no online process for the registration of Wage Compensation scheme in Assam for pregnant women of Tea Garden.
